About

Scott Resnick is the founder of Scott Resnick Law PC, a law firm focused on fractional general counsel services and strategic legal support for small and mid-sized businesses. With more than 15 years of experience, Scott helps founders and leadership teams navigate legal risk, transactions, and operational complexity with clarity and confidence.

Scott’s background spans in-house legal leadership, complex commercial contracting, regulatory compliance, and litigation. He has served in senior legal roles advising executives, boards of directors, and cross-functional teams on high-stakes business decisions, governance matters, and ongoing legal risk management. His work emphasizes proactive legal strategy—helping businesses address issues early, structure decisions thoughtfully, and avoid unnecessary disruption.

In addition to his transactional and advisory work, Scott has meaningful litigation experience, including representing clients in complex real-estate and co-ownership disputes. That litigation background informs his general counsel approach: understanding how disputes actually unfold and helping clients reduce the likelihood that routine issues escalate into formal conflict. His goal is not just legal correctness, but practical decision-making that aligns with business objectives.

Scott also advises small and mid-sized businesses on acquisitions, exits, and other strategic transactions, bringing a business-first lens shaped by years of working closely with leadership teams. He earned a JD from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, an MBA from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, and a BA in Economics from UCLA. He is licensed in California and Arizona and has spent more than a decade as an adjunct law professor teaching a range of legal subjects.

As a fractional general counsel, Scott partners with businesses that need senior legal judgment, continuity, and strategic oversight—without the overhead of a full-time hire. His practice is built for companies that have outgrown reactive legal help and want a trusted legal advisor embedded in their decision-making process.
